E-RESOURCES USAGE POLICY

SYSTEMATIC DOWNLOADING OF E-RESOURCES IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED


The Library subscribes several E-Resources directly through the publishers or from their exclusive authorized vendors. The terms and conditions for using these resources are spelled out in Electronic Resource License Agreements with each publisher.
These e-resources are meant to be used by faculty members, students, research scholars and staffs only. These e-resources are copyright items and govern by certain terms and conditions. This is the duty of the users to protect the authors’ right by using e-resources in fare manner.
It is the responsibility of individual users to ensure that the use of electronic resources does not breach the terms and conditions specified in the license agreements.
E-resources consists of online journals, databases, e-books, and materials subscribed by the Institute library and are accessible online via intranet or through remote access.


Permitted

IIPE library users are permitted to:
  1. Search, retrieve, display, and view e-Resources.
  2. Downloading, copying, printing and saving a copy of search results.
  3. Using e-resources for scholarly, educational or scientific research, teaching, private study, clinical purposes, and NOT FOR COMMERCIAL USE
  4. Distribute or otherwise make available to other Authorised Users (IIPE fraternity only).
  5. Reserves (in printed or electronic form) for access by Authorised Users in connection with specific courses offered by the Institute.
  6. Posting the URL to the publisher's version of the article on a class website (publisher links will allow only authorized users access).
  7. If Authorised user wish to carry out any other activity not explicitly mentioned above, they must obtain prior permission from the respective publisher through the library in written.

Not Permitted

IIPE library users are not permitted to:
  1. Authorised Users shall not use any automated program including without limitation Web Crawlers to access E-resources. Such activities are strictly forbidden.
  2. Downloading, copying, printing and saving a copy of search results.
  3. Systematic Download of the e-resources is Strictly Prohibited. (Downloading complete volume, e-book etc.)
  4. Use of robots or intelligent agents or AI Tools, to do systematic, bulk or automatic downloading is not permitted.
  5. Using e-resources for commercial gain is not permitted (i.e. reselling, redistributing or republishing licensed content).
  6. Transmitting, disseminating or otherwise making online content available to unauthorized users (i.e. sending to mailing lists or electronic bulletin boards) is not permitted
  7. Posting full text in pdf or in any format on public domain, social media etc. is strictly prohibited.
