IIPE Hosts Industry-Academia Conclave 2024: “CONNECTING ACADEMIA AND INDUSTRY FOR A SUSTAINABLE WORLD”
The Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy (IIPE) successfully organized the industry-Academia Conclave 2024, bringing together leaders from academia and industry to discuss advancements and challenges in the energy sector. The conclave began with an inaugural address by the Director of IIPE Prof. Shalivahan Srivastava who underscored the importance of closer collaboration between institutions and industries and he stated that “Strengthening these ties will equip students with practical knowledge and prepare them to address real-world industry challenges”. The conclave was chaired by Dr. Aparoy Polamarasetty and Dr. Dr. Hemanth Kumar Tanneru . Dr. Aparoy gave the welcome address and spoke on the focus areas of the conclave, “fostering a collaborative platform to bring academia and industry together” and “to promote future entrepreneurs from students” . There was emphasis on improvement of employability of the students and encouraging the culture of startups among students. Dean, R&D Prof. Vijay Kumar addressed the gathering and apprised the research policies in IIPE. He highlighted the need of industry-academia collaborations. The event featured insightful sessions by distinguished speakers on critical themes of energy and sustainability: • Shri KANUPARTHY NAGA RAJA (DGM R&D, HPCL): Delivered an impactful session on innovations in Sustainable Aviation Fuel and Biofuels, along with the challenges faced in these fields. • Dr. Senthilmurugan Balasubramanian, PhD (Reliance Industries): Highlighted the potential of Microbial Enhanced Oil Recovery (MEOR) in India and shared Reliance's strategies for addressing associated challenges. • Dr. Murali Krishna Kalaga (GE Vernova): Explored breakthroughs in Green Energy, Direct Air Capture (DAC) technologies, and pathways to achieving net-zero carbon emissions. • Dr. Krishna Kanth Pulicherla: Emphasised the importance of innovation and research in academics. CEOs & Co-Founders of startups like Ossus Biorenewables, Cancrie, Fruvetech, EH Group systems and GeoRadar.ai delivered talk and spoke about their journey; from idea to entrepreneurship. Shri. RAMPHAL DWIVEDI registrar IIPE has congratulated the team for organizing the Industry Academia Conclave 2024 in a big way.The day-long event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. Hemanth, leaving attendees inspired to work towards sustainable and impactful solutions for the energy sector.
