Prof. I/C: Dr. Arun Kumar Pujari

CAD-CAM Lab

List of Experiments

  • Valve time and port timing diagram of four stroke and two stroke engines
  • Performance testing of four stroke diesel engine
  • Performance testing of four stroke petrol engine
  • Heat balance estimation in IC engines
  • Friction power estimation in IC engines
  • Flash and Fire point estimation of Diesel fuels
  • Flash and Fire point estimation of lubricating oils
  • Cloud and Pour point estimation of fuels
  • Calorific value estimation of fuels
  • Kinematic and dynamic viscosity estimation of lubricating oils

The Mechanical Engineering Laboratory is an integral part of the coursework for 5th semester Mechanical Engineering students at IIPE. It offers hands-on experience in analyzing the properties and behavior of various conventional and alternative fuels used in thermal and combustion systems.

Equipped with essential instruments to determine calorific value, flash and fire points, viscosity, and fuel composition, the lab allows students to explore the fundamental aspects of fuel science. These experiments complement theoretical concepts learned in thermodynamics and combustion, and help in understanding fuel performance, energy efficiency, and environmental impact.

The lab not only enhances technical skills but also encourages innovation in sustainable and clean energy technologies.
